Structures are large, deployable player-built installations designed to enable long-term expansion, resource control, and economic activity across the universe of Far From Home. These installations mark a transition from mobile operations to anchored, sector-based infrastructure in deep space—providing the essential framework for advanced mining, manufacturing, trade, and interstellar logistics.
As the universe expands and industrial systems deepen, structures play an increasingly vital role in shaping the balance of power, resource distribution, and the emergence of player-controlled regions. Whether anchoring a remote star system, asteroid sector or extracting valuable gas from the atmosphere of a giant, structures serve as the cornerstone of sustainable gameplay at scale.
Structures will play a central role in the future expansion of the universe. As Far From Home prepares to introduce new star systems, structures such as System Stations, Sector Stations and Gas Mining Facilities will serve as the foundational infrastructure required to stabilize, extract, and connect remote regions.
These deep-space systems will rely on player-built installations to become economically viable and strategically relevant. In unexplored star systems—far from main hubs—structures will determine who establishes first-mover advantage, controls rare resources, and enables long-term operations.
System Stations will serve as central infrastructure for entire star systems. Built and operated exclusively by corporations, these large-scale hubs will function as trading centers, logistical anchors, and political strongholds. They will facilitate large-volume resource routing, corporate governance, and high-tier manufacturing—becoming the core of interstellar commerce and territory management.
Sector Stations serve as regional hubs, transforming deep space sectors into active zones of asteroid generation, mining, repair, and storage. They offer modular services for both their owners and the community—such as ship docking, refueling, and repair.
Gas Mining Facilities will enable extraction of volatile and high-value gases from gas giants and specialized zones. These structures will introduce a new layer of industrial activity, requiring stabilization equipment and atmospheric handling systems to function within hazardous environments.
In addition to major installations, players will also encounter or construct smaller-scale structures across the universe. While limited in scope, such structures will offer tactical and economic benefits—such as boosting nearby operations, scouting unexplored zones, or establishing forward supply points.
Future gameplay phases will introduce structures designed to support habitat development, long-term colonization, and strategic control over expanded territories.
